With your support we can continue to run all the programs we currently have and work on creating more. Check out our various ways to be involved below including: volunteering, internships, job opportunities, and more!
Volunteering can have tons of benefits not just for the community you’re working with but for yourself. Some of the benefits of volunteering with us are:
- Develop new skills: you will be working with a small not for profit and developing skills like program organization, communication, and skills working with at-risk populations.
- Meet new people: working with us you will start to meet people who are passionate about some of the same issues as you are. We have volunteers from Australia to Canada and the connections you can make are endless!
- Up your resume: Besides doing great work you also will be improving your resume. Two birds one stone, what a win right?
Some of our volunteer opportunities are restricted to people living in the tri-state area who can easily travel to and from NYC. Please read more details below to see if you are eligible for the opportunity you want!

Be a Mentor
If you are successful, motivated, and want to make a huge difference than you should consider being a mentor to one of our youth. You have to be able to travel to NYC at least once a month and have to be willing to communicate and form a relationship with someone aged 16-20. You will go on field trips together, prepare for college or work, and have an amazing time. For more details about the application click below.
Be a Student Ambassador
If you’re a student we want to work with you! Our new student ambassador program is great way to be involved with The ELM Project anywhere at anytime! You can share and create content about our programs, have fundraisers, and raise awareness about HIV/AIDS and Sickle cell on your campus! Learn more here.
Special Event Volunteer
Throughout the year we are involved in different special events. We have an annual banquet, we participate in walks, and we have special fundraisers. If you want to volunteer occasionally without a weekly commitment check back frequently to see if we have any special events that need volunteers.
